Scott will share stories of sports heroes and icons that we all know, not simply for the great success they achieved on the competitive stage, but, more importantly, for the lessons we all learned from them.

We’ll also announce officers & directors for 2011 and present an update on our tile project, including some new tiles on display.

ELF Art Project Draws Community-Wide Support

Actual size: 12" x 12"

© Marion Grebow

The Euless Library Foundation ("ELF") has commissioned a hand-painted ceramic tile mural depicting Euless history.  The Himes Log House tile, pictured here, is just the first piece of this one-of-a-kind artistic project. The final project will include more than 250 tiles in varying sizes. Each tile is an individually created work of art.

Designed to commemorate places and events in Euless history, this project offers opportunities for community support at a variety of levels.

To see samples of other work by artist Marion Grebow, visit her gallery at gallery.mac.com/mariongrebow, or visit the Euless Public Library to see the tiles below on display. As new tiles are received, they will be on display at the library until the permanent wall is installed in late 2010 or early 2011. Help us bring Euless history to life.

Find out how you can be part of this project. Click here for more information.

    Euless Library Foundation Mission

The Euless Library Foundation's mission is to enhance the visibility and growth of the Euless Public Library through the purchase of public art and the support of programs and projects that will enable the Library to become the cultural center of Euless.

from flame to fine art

Blooms of Enlightenment, a blown-glass sculpture by artist David Keens, is the most recently completed art project presented to the City of Euless and the Library by the Euless Library Foundation at a Dedication Event on August 12, 2005.
